In which Lushaka makes an interesting choice as to what to ask.

Carrying a dead body across rough terrain at night? With no equipments (e.g. body bag or a stretcher)? It’s asking for trouble is what it is.
 

This arc has been a rocky ride; I hope this scene makes up for it. It means a lot to me, and is an important moment for the story as well.

Nearly wordless. Wordless scenes are a lot of fun to make, and are often the most poignant moments, I find.
 

Here’s an early update since it’s been a while. I’m fond of how the mountains in the first panel came out; it’s simpler than how I usually do it, which is perfect for the low visibility of the scene.

There was a surprise update on Friday, so make sure you haven’t missed it! Heart of Keol will take a short holiday break and return on December 28th. Be safe and merry, everyone!

Ninja update is here to surprise you all. After the next update on this coming Tues/Wed, though, I’m going to take a one-week break for Christmas. So think of this as an early update rather than an extra one.

As for the scene… one word: projection.

Hitting a bit too close to home…

Facty bits: Jangkki (장끼) means “male pheasant” while Kobyong (Kkuh-Byoung: 꺼병) means “baby pheasant.”

I’d planned to have an intermission week, but thought it best to move onto the next chapter. The last one had some significant storytelling issues, and I wanted the story to move away from it as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, what happened in the last chapter is going to be extremely relevant to what’s about to happen…

Fun fact: This has been fixed now (obviously), but I forgot to draw Lushaka’s pants in the first panel. I usually draw his legs naked first because they’re super muscular and I don’t want to accidentally draw them too thin, and I just forgot about it after drawing everything else in the panel. Kinda ironic when you remember what he said in the last chapter.

And that’s it for this soon-to-be-retitled chapter. What a weird turn of events, huh? I hate to explain this here (I fully believe the story should speak for itself, ideally) but this is all going somewhere, I promise.
