Ninja update is here to surprise you all. After the next update on this coming Tues/Wed, though, I’m going to take a one-week break for Christmas. So think of this as an early update rather than an extra one.

As for the scene… one word: projection.

You know, I actually have mixed feelings about these villagers right now. On the one hand it seems like seeing that they have wives and children and neighbors should humanize them, because they had a reason for what they tried to do and they have people who love them and who they love.

On the other…it also makes them seem even worse that I can have empathy for them for that reason, but they were willing to kill or severely wound the guardians of a child younger than/around the same age as their own right in front of her, and then either enslave that child, butcher her for magic parts, or sell her to other people who would. That’s some pretty egregious moral myopia on their part.
