I’M BAAAAAAAAAAACK! I’d forgotten what it was like to work on this comic. It is fun, depressing, exciting, and terrifying all at the same time.

I hope you’ll all enjoy what this chapter has to offer. I’ve been sitting on the scripts/thumbnails for so long (had them finished WELL before the hiatus). It’s time to let this thing out, even if it’s got flaws!

And about time Ethan makes himself useful, too. Or at least tries to.

That wraps up Chapter 6: The Queen’s Quarry (II). Who’s pumped for Chapter 7? I KNOW I AM!!!

…Unfortunately, I’m going on a forced break.
This is probably the WORST POSSIBLE TIME to go on a break. That cliffhanger! The momentum! AAAUUURGH!!!!
As much as it pains me… there is simply no other way. Due to some personal issues that came up, I just won’t have enough time to work on the comic for the next few weeks.

Chapter 7 will begin on August 3. During chapter 7, I will post two updates a week, the same as before. After that, I will probably need to switch to once-a-week schedule for some time while I deal with some RL stuff. To be honest, I’ll be bending over backwards to post two updates a week for chapter 7. ^^; It’s a very fast-paced chapter, so I don’t want it to go slow — especially after making you guys wait for a month.

I will switch back to twice-a-week as soon as my schedule allows me! I do want to finish this comic before I turn 40, haha.

To receive notifications when the comic updates, I strongly recommend subscribing on Tapastic and/or Comic Rocket. Super useful sites, they are! If you don’t have an account on those sites and don’t want to bother, worry not. I will come back on August 3, as promised. ^_^

See you all in a month!

Uploading one day early since it’s been a while. I’ve missed you all!

Adela’s approach actually works in most cases. People with a random Elyeo living among them aren’t too attached to her emotionally, so they are generally willing to let inductors take the Elyeo if threatened/ offered monetary compensation.

The problem here is that Hana isn’t just “some random neighbor with funny-looking ears”… She’s a dandelion child raised as their own.

PS. Check out the previous episode where Adela takes off her robe. I’ve made a couple of changes to make it clear that she’s NOT flashing her bewbs XD

There will be no update this coming Monday. I just went through some kind of an illness that took two days of serious, near-nonstop SLEEPING, and I need some time to catch up.

About this particular scene: I’ve thought about this one a lot. Even though it’d be 10x simpler to just have her turn around to show the insignia, she’s just not the type to pirouette like an excited child. She would not turn her back toward someone she knows she may end up fighting, possibly to death. She’s confident about the match-up, but she’s not going to turn back and give them a free shot, even if the fight hasn’t begun/ might not actually happen.

We live in an age where sexual objectification of women are taken for granted. Male characters can also be sexually objectified, but you see a lot of male characters who would be described as being “dangerous,” “witty,” “psychotic,” “heroic,” etc. BEFORE they’re called “hot” (if they are “hot” at all). With those characters, good looks are just another part of the whole, whereas with female characters, it’s like they have to pass some sort of a hotness test in order to be anything else.

It’s a sad age to live in. Some creators respond to it by directly fighting it; it’s like writing anti-Sue characters to fight Mary Sueism. Me, I choose to do it a bit differently. I’m not going to actively avoid showing characters like the blond girl here. I’m not going to advocate gender equality sexual objectification (though as I’ve said before, I won’t avoid sexy man candy scenes either, when they come up). Neither of those approaches works for me. Not with this story, at least.

Instead, I include female characters from across a wide range of the hotness spectrum. The granny, the very plain-looking Queen, the “maybe slightly above average” suyori twins… as well as “super attractive” characters like Danbi’s mom or this blond girl here.

Don’t tell super hot characters to go away. Tell the plain and the ugly ones to come join the fun! FUN AND SPOTLIGHT FOR ALL!

Gotta give credit where it’s due: Ethan has a pretty good memory.

As it’s implied, “Elyeo” is a Keolian mispronunciation/corruption of “Elyath.” Elyeo just happens to sound like “lady of El” (을녀) in Korean, and el means a bunch of different things, including “second,” “darkness,” “tree,” etc.

Because of that, a male Elyath would probably be called Elnam, meaning “man of El,” by Keolians. The N in Elnam is silent (eaten by the L preceding it), so it would be pronounced Elam.
