Have you noticed that Lushaka’s ears turn between every panel he’s in? My current dog is extremely expressive with her ears (much more so than with her tail), and it’s rubbed off on Lu. Check out those lopsided ears in that last panel XD

Ooh, very good observation, Ethan.

He may be confused 90% of the times due not being fluent, but he still got a brain. :)

I would expect that of a being with “animal” ears. Their ears are shaped to draw in sounds that humans can’t necessarily hear, like a funnel. You know how when you cup your hand around your ear sometimes to hear better? I wonder if the Rencho sense of smell is better too?

keii4iiSeptember 27, 2016 @ 6:06 PMReply

Probably not significantly better — their sense of smell, I mean. Unless they shift into the cat form. The sense-related differences can get disorienting, especially when they’re new shifters (they can’t shift until they’re older).

Oh, and, Geoducks, too, too funny! They are about the nasty looking clam I’ve ever seen. Surely Ethan knows what a clam is?

keii4iiSeptember 27, 2016 @ 6:57 PMReply

He knows the word in English, but not in Korean!

Oh! Very cute ear-turning!

Good in-world explaining with the clams. I somehow never imagined the geoduck metaphor before, though! XD
