A lot of IRL tears went into the making of this, and now that it’s finally posted, I would love to know what you all think! ;0; There’s a lot going on here. I hope the scene speaks for itself, even though Lushaka himself isn’t saying much…

The next chapter will begin after a 2-week break, on May 30th!

That’s definitely gotta be the reaction of someone who’s becomed conditioned to trying to protect another person from PTSD triggers. It’s absolutely heart breaking to see it anywhere, but moreso knowing that Ethan is, by all means, still just a kid and that person was his father.

Yeah… I mean he’s always been an eager puppy who wants everyone to be happy and safe, but certain experiences have shaped the *ways* in which he tries to make everyone happy and safe. It’s awesome that you noticed that connection, BTW.

Thanks. Sad to say it’s easy to draw that conclusion from my own experience with mentally afflicted family members–something I have mentioned here before. At the same time, that makes me appreciate the comic more. The fact that he has dealt with a situation like that and actually shows the mannerisms of a person who has that kind of experience instead of never showing any sort of sensitivity or knowledge of such things after dealing with them just goes to show how much depth, detail, and thought you put into your characters, Keii4ii. I always look forward to what comes next in this beautiful story of yours.

Oh gosh, so many. I love it all, honestly.
So here’s something funny: I’ve been using your painting “His First Sunset” as my computer background for years. I found it on DeviantArt when I was browsing for something pretty for a background.
I recently reinstalled everything on my computer, but couldn’t find where I’d saved the image, so I went back to DeviantArt…which is when I found it it was from your web comic! Had no idea that the image I looked at everyday had more to it than just “pretty” and I am so glad to have found your webcomic and know more about the world you’ve created. Keep up the awesome work!

I showed one of the previous pages to a friend of mine, and he asked if something gay was going on.
I didn’t really know what to tell him, but to be honest, this is the first ever comic I’ve read where I don’t really care as everything seems to come so natural all the time. A lot of times I find that the sexual orientation of the characters in comics is forced on them rather than a natural thing.
But your storytelling is so refined that it doesn’t really matter what gender they are or what way they swing. Combined with the amazing art it’s truly one of the best comics out there.
It’s been a fantastic rid this far, and it’s only getting better.

Aw, thank you! To be fair, though, I think well-written romance can be hard to find for all orientations/combinations, including hetero.

It’s been honestly nerve wracking, trying to portray this particular relationship in all of its beauty. Such an impossible task! But it relieves me to see that you and the others find something special in it; that means I’ve captured a little bit of the beauty, at least. :)

That’s okay! It’s just nice that you do. :-) YAS YAS YAS I very much support this ship. However, I am open to wherever you end up taking this, because I’m really curious to see how this all turns out, ever since you hinted that this is Ethan’s self-journey. :-)
I think it’s because their program runs by saving the html as a page number, while yours is the date that you posted the page. Thank you though! Now I have a new place to check out. Although I actually just remember to check this anyway. :-P
Also, I feel Danbi’s struggle. As a very proud-to-be woman with a boy’s name and look, with a boy’s preferred activities, he reaches me. Are you going to update the cast list at some point?

You know, despite being a mostly strait man, i really ship them as a couple.
And i know there are elements to this scene other than that.
But their just so cute together… :D

They WOULD make an amazing couple. It’a a ship whose voyage would be the most beautiful of them all. Now we gotta wait and see if the ship sails…

This is very very sweet. Poor Danbi though, lol. Musta been VERY confusing, seeing Ethan just haul ass with the resident assassin! Ethan acts so much younger than he looks though. I look at the shippers and go “but he’s just a baby!” XDDD Once you start updating again I think I’ll have to reread. My memory…it’s so bad…

I feel you about the bad memory. With very long-running comics, I find myself looking to comments from other readers (who have better memory than I do) for a little help… This works for well known comics with busy comments section, but not so well for obscure ones like this, alas.

Can’t stop laughing! Ethan, you nutcase! XD I’m especially splitting my sides recalling Lu’s face last page. (Last scroll?)

Actually, one thing did make me stop laughing: the first panel. I just had to stop and gawk for a bit.

Lu is like O-O this is the first time anyone has picked me up and charged through a market and probably the entire town solely to protect me from seeing severed tiny versions of my own body and it was ridiculous and unnecessary… but also really amazing and nice that someone cared so much to do it T___T I love his expression in the second panel! I’m super weak to subtle expressions that carry so much emotional weight behind them!!
