By the way, I’m doing that webcomic meme that’s making the rounds on Twitter. Check it out; you might find it interesting! Haven’t answered all the questions at the time of writing, but will get to them soon.

Two quick comments.
1. Your homepage shows the date as 29 March instead of 19 March.
2. Regarding your answer to the meme Q. 6, i.e. your “weakness” being that you’re face-blind, you’ve chosen the right artistic style where the “important details” are not in the “little details.” With your broad brush strokes, basic facial templates, & your use of color, your characters’ faces are self-consistent within the story and quite recognizable as themselves.

Have you ever looked at “The Pale” (thepalecomic.com)? One of the primary characters in the story is an FBI agent with prosopagnosia. The story isn’t specifically about face-blindness (although it does figure strongly in the agent’s day-to-day life and how/why he reacts the way he does) but it does deal with the condition in a manner that is insightful, respectful, and occasionally gently humorous.
it gives a lot of insight into how that can affect someone in day-to-day life and how it can be co

1. Oh nooo! I just fixed that. Thank you for letting me know!

2. Thank you! I don’t think my prosopagnosia itself is a weakness. It’s just that the way I perceive (and thus portray) emotions/moods may be less accessible, as a side effect of prosopagnosia. I thought it’d be more interesting to talk about than “I suck at ABC” X’D

I’m aware of the comic, but haven’t read it. I do really like its art!

Honestly, I find the way you portray emotion very clear, and it reads more instinctively to me than most comics, where (to me at least) it often feels over-done.

… is there a way to edit comments once they’re posted? (stupid editor/editorial/update/$%^)(*&^ hit enter before I was ready….)

keii4iiMarch 19, 2019 @ 10:39 PMReply

Ack XD; If there is no edit function, you can always add more as replies/ separate comments?

Aaah, no, poor Danbi, don’t cut his hair please… Though I’m really curious to see him with short hair…

keii4iiMarch 26, 2019 @ 11:37 AMReply

Speaking of Danbi with short(er) hair, his design was inspired by Pai from 3*3 Eyes!

Ya I have a feeling that’s what Lushaka’s thinking…

You can render pretty decently… that’s a bit of an understatement I’d say! These railway tunnel shots are some of your most beautiful yet. So many comics, whether they’re on the web or in print look so flat. Heart of Keol honestly reminds me of the 3D effect you get from stereoscopes. It feels like the panels are windows instead of drawings.

Speaking of railroads… was the train from the bridge a while back based on a real one?

CanadianMarch 22, 2019 @ 12:33 AMReply

I forgot to bridge my statements by saying the excellent shading is what makes it look 3D to me. That’s what I get for replacing sleep with tea.

keii4iiMarch 26, 2019 @ 11:39 AMReply

Aw, thank you! The sense of space and volume is definitely something I try to capture in my art!

(Tea is a valid replacement … to a point anyway)
