I thought you updated on Wednesday. The page says October 14, but it’s October 13. Lu smells to many things… What does he smell?

I really appreciate that Ethan acknowledges that his question might be offensive and based on a wrong assumption. I think it also comes through in his face (and in the fact that he asked at all) how tired and desperate he’s feeling about the situation.

Very entertaining! I do want to point out that cats, specifically tigers, though this is true of most cats, don’t actually have a very good sense of smell. Smell is used principally for marking territory and other communications with other cats, it isn’t keen enough for them to track prey. Tigers primarily hunt using sound and sight. I take no issue with this strip as Lu is a magic fantasy tiger person so it’s up to the author what skills or senses he may possess but real tigers wouldn’t be able to do this.

Who knows, maybe that’s why Lu had never thought of doing it — because it’s a very rare ability among Renchos, and he’s never seen anyone else do it? :o
