Now you see him… now you don’t!

Next week there will be a triple update, and possibly a mini-announcement as well!

I just binged this whole thing! It is beautiful and past midnight and I have no regrets. Ethan and Lushaka’s friendship is so sweet, they really are like cat and dog buddies. I feel like Ethan’s dormant Dokkabi powers must be stronger than average for him to be seeing what seem to be the souls of the eaten wyrm. I wonder if Ethan is part something other-gately. P.S. I’m kinda low-key shipping Ethan and Lushaka. P.P.S. I love this comic and now I think I’m addicted. Keep up the awesome work! :)

Oooo you’ve made my day! I’m glad you’re enjoying the story! There’s some important development just around the corner for Ethan and Lushaka’s relationship… :o

¡GRACIAS! It’s been such a great surprise! I’m kinda lost for words… I just love the details, for example, how playful Lu’s tail and ears are, and the landscapes, those blues on blacks. There is a blue shed near a bluish-green bush on ch. 14, which I liked it a lot. I like Danbi and Ethan but my fav by far is Lushaka, does his name have a meaning? Maybe I missed it… Is Lu a supporting character? :'( He hasn’t been included in the Cast. What is his fav color? Does he like pets? Did he have one back in his homeland? Does he like reading? Well, I have a list of questions (about the story not just about Lu), a couple has been solved but others… guess I must be patient to find out.

Thanks again and take care!

Your comment is super awesome and encouraging (•̩̩̩́ ᴗ •̩̩̩̀)!! It makes me happy to see that you have all these questions that you want to know about.

Don’t worry, Lushaka is a major character; I just need to update that cast page. While his name literally means “star tail,” there’s an interesting story behind it. I want to do a mini comic about it some day to show why his parent chose that name, and what it means to him.

He’s not a big reader. He was sort of starting to get into fiction years ago, but his life kind of got turned upside down, and he hasn’t gotten back to it since then. These days most of what he reads is whatever catches his eyes in the newspaper (when he happens to be in a city; newspapers aren’t easy to find outside of cities), which isn’t much.

He didn’t have a pet in his home world, but his siblings may have had one? Not sure about that one. There were also wild animals that he saw frequently in his area, and he may have semi-befriended some of them. No close bonds, though.

Now I’m curious… What are the other questions you have? :o

Hmm, I thought that Lu would be a good reader… Okay, some of the questions. Why does Ethan only think of his father? The little information about his family gave me the idea that Ethan’s mom is not a good person, or is it just that Ethan is upset because she took his father to a care facility? Guess more information will be provided later. Given that the story is set in an ancient time, is the society under a kind of feudal system? On my eye, there have been some hints that show that the society in Keul is not so idyllic… Of course, as everyone else, I also want to know why Lu is helping Danbi.

Thanks for the hard work!

Does Lu practice a martial art? What kind is it?

Yeah, he does spend a lot of time alone (or at least he used to before joining this team!), so what does he do if he doesn’t read? He’s more of a meditative type. Not like serious spiritual meditation, but more like seeking a quiet place and letting the thoughts come and go.

The situation with Ethan and his mom is… complicated. The problems began long before she sent her husband to a care facility. Remember the brief flashback in chapter 13, that ends with Ethan thinking “because you never grieved for him”? For years, Ethan’s been feeling very alone, like he was the only one in the world who missed his father. Like his mom didn’t really care that her husband was gone — or that her son was sad. Whether these feelings are justified (and if so, to what degree) remains to be seen.

We’ll get a look at Lu doing some fighting…. sooner or later!

Look the third picture from top to bottom. It reminded me of the beautiful drawing you made of Lu, “West-gazer”
