Those poor chickens… :'( There was a fried chicken place near one of the places I grew up in that kept live chickens like that!

Actually those chickens have more space, less stress, and healthier conditions than industrially kept chickens, i.e. than most of the world’s chicken population. That cage is fine.

You shouldn’t feel bad.
Even free range chickens doesn’t live an ideal life. They get to go out side and have a lot of space, but there’s a lot of problems with the hens picking at each other and killing the weakest animals that way. Even scientists agree there’s no real “best way” of keeping chickens. There’s positives and negatives to every way of keeping them :)

The free range chickens I saw looked pretty happy, but maybe that was because there were only a few of them. :< I guess there's no easy way to raise a commercially viable quantity of animals...

I like word contractions. See ‘squishes’ from earlier. Grilled octopus is now filed away in my brainmeats as ‘groktopus’.
