Even in this little heart-to-heart, there’s still some things left unsaid.

So Lu got the brand so he could work about with another Rencho(sp?). They wouldn’t be allowed to otherwise? Does only one have to have it or do both? I don’t like how Rencho are treated. The different fur patterns are interesting. Are they just random or do they indicate environment and geographical placement of ancestors? Like, do snow leopard patterns come from wherever the snowy places are on their world? What about language barriers? Are they spread out enough to have significantly different cultures? Or are they all in the same area and the fur’s random? If they’re all in the same place, would fur indicate lineage? Is it inheritable? So tiger is usually associated with one family and van with another? If it’s inheritable instead of truly random, if the parents have two different fur colors(and would that be taboo? This comic seems to indicate no) can they combine or does one pattern always prove to be dominant? Does Sundi just have a mask or are they a tux pattern? Or splotched? Ugh, we had the animal control bring this adorable little grey and white kitten to the library thinking maybe one of us would just take him(and lo and behold, one of us knew a lady who’d recently lost her cat and wanted a kitten) and he was SO CUTE. So tiny, so scared poor baby. He has a mask like Sundi and splotches on the rest. His grey splotches were tabby! bjksawfkafbh. Anyway. Now that you’ve shown a domestic fur type though, now I’m staring into the distance, thinking of a Turkish Van and just So Wistful. Turkish Vans are so pretty. And! If there was a Maine Coon one, would is have that glorious ruff?? Would Ragdoll patterns have something like that whatever that makes Ragdolls go all limp when picked up? WOULD SCOTTISH FOLDS BE PARTIALLY DEAF AND THE RESULT OF ONE FAMILY BEING REALLY FREAKING PICKY AND FOLLOWING A ~DREAM~? Are Tabbies very sensible? What would domestic breed colors indicate about location? If the patterns aren’t random, that is. Are there different body types among the Rencho too, cobby, oriental, medium, and substantial? So, short and stocky, whipcord thin and tall, something between, and giant beefcake? Like, when there were just wild cat patterns, I didn’t wonder all this; wild cat things are so common and never have a satisfactory back story so I don’t pry anymore. But NOW you’ve gone and brought my pretty domestics into this. <3

I'm not good at reading into things like the other people who usually comment are or seem to. They're all 'Look at this significant moment!' and I'm all yup, them sure is brush strokes thar. Wut nice brush strokes and shiny color. Ah do like them shoulder bits. I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder.

HEY A FERRET SO CUTE.

The traits are indeed inherited. But Rencho women typically travel a lot in their home world, which means traits get mixed up all the time (e.g. a burly cheetah). Even Lushaka isn’t really 100% tiger; the stripes are too few, his tail is too fluffy (gets much fluffier when the temperature drops). As self-indulgence, though, I do like to put a nod here and there to real life things, so you might see individuals who are recognizably one species/breed! Like that anonymous fake Lushaka, who had jaguar markings and was stocky.

Ooooo the ladies travel. That opens a looot of possibilities.

Fluffy is better. That’s probably half the reason I love snow leopards so much. Such. Fluffy. Tails.

I’m worried the ferret might be a spy who will expose them… I may be being too suspicious…

X’D Maybe the ferret is working for the Hornets!?
